We hold respect for history in high regard. It's important to remember your origins and the events that have shaped your journey.

Knut Stoyl, the founder of Hraukvin Business Advisory, was born and raised in Røyken, a quaint municipality in Eastern Norway. The Old Norse name for Røyken, Hraukvin, translates to "Peaks and Valleys," reflecting the region's distinctive topography. Additionally, Hraukvin signifies "Cone-shaped pile," a term likely derived from the historical practice of stacking peat from marshlands into conical forms for drying, later to be utilised as heating fuel, an alternative to firewood. These cone-shaped piles may also refer to rock cairns, which continue to serve as trail markers in mountainous terrains.

Knut's bond with New Zealand was forged during his service with the United Nations in Somalia in the early 1990s. There, he developed a strong rapport with the Kiwi logistics and supply platoon, resonating with their culture and values. This bond prompted Knut to move to New Zealand in 1999, where he has since assumed senior roles in operations, procurement, and commercial management. He has been honored with a Fellowship from the Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply. Since establishing his own firm in 2016, he has primarily provided consultancy services to the New Zealand government on complex procurement matters.

Knut has a deep passion for sustainability, history, and culture. He believes firmly that "No one should interfere with another's culture." Conversations about culture frequently segue into talks about food and beverages. Knut admires the Aotearoa food and beverage sector for its impressive performance on the global stage.

Hraukvin Business Advisory has its headquarters in Wellington, New Zealand.
